Captain Zach Dagel's fishing and hunting experiences have brought him from places such as Northern Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Canada.

Zach owned and operated Grand Rapids Guide Service in northern Minnesota for the last 10 years, and built a successful Guide Service that he sold to one of his friends, so he could move to South Texas to start Laguna Madre Guide Serve and pursue his passion for saltwater fishing. Zach worked as a professional Quail guide on the King Ranch running bird dogs, and now has transitioned into owning and running Laguna Madre Guide Service,

Captain Zach specializes in giving you a chance to catch the fish of a lifetime while providing you with fresh fillets for the frying pan. His goal is to provide you with a high-quality experience shallow water fishing in South Texas. Zach will fine-tune your skills so you can have a successful day on the water! Our fishing success rate is usually very good, so be prepared to take home fish. Bring a cooler of dry ice - Captain Zach we'll clean and package your fish for you.

Summer live bait trips additional $50.

Guided Duck Hunting Trips

  • Fly Fishing: Captain Zac is an experienced fly fishing guide, catching speckled trout and redfish.

  • Fall and Winter: Zach offers cast and blast trips on Baffin Bay, hunting for a few hours in the morning, and fishing in the afternoon. Weather in South Texas at this time of the year is usually fabulous

  • Things You Need to Bring:
    For fishing - your fishing license, sunscreen, rain gear, or snacks and drinking water.
    For hunting trips - gun, license, duck stamps, gear, and waders.
